I once read a story about a Renaissance artist who was meticulously sculpting the back of a statue. His supervisor approached him and told him his sculpture was going to be placed in an alcove of the church and therefore nobody would ever see or appreciate his hard work. His reply was, “Well, I will know it’s there.”
This story aptly describes how I approach design. I go the extra mile in my graphics knowing full well that no one will ever notice the painstaking detail I put into them. I need it to look perfect because I believe that everything I do is a reflection of my character and my integrity is of the utmost importance to me.
My name is Brian Quinn and I’ve been a graphic designer for three years. My interests are; philosophy, psychology, history, music, art, computers, technology, cinema, literature, volunteering, calligraphy, and working out.
This is who I am:
I am an autodidact, I have the discipline and tenacity to work daily to hone my skills. I am always up for a project that will challenge me as a designer.
I am a curious person with a broad range of interest. I find almost anything can be fascinating if you take the time and energy to really learn about it.
I am a very empathic person who puts the needs of the client before my own personal preference.
Design is a collaborative endeavor and I am very much a team player. I see constructive criticism as an opportunity for growth and I assume that the person I am listening to might know something I don't.
I am persistent. I don’t give up just because something is difficult. I am perfectly willing to put in the extra time and energy to get a job done right.
I am passionate about design because there is always something new to learn. I am constantly evolving and accruing new skills. I want nothing more than to be the best I can be.
